Welcome to the College of Food Science and Technology!

College of Food Science and Technology was founded in 1993, whose predecessor was the Department of Fishery Processing established in 1912, and later renamed as the Department of Food Science & Technology in 1986. The College of Food Science and Technology has now become highly academic-integrated in China with its characteristics of education, training and its strength of scientific research within the recent century. 

The mission of the college is to generate knowledge about foods through research, and to apply and disseminate knowledge through teaching and outreach. With the profession of aquatic product processing, food freezing and refrigeration, combining the disciplines of food science and engineering, refrigeration and cryogenic engineering. The College of Food Science and Technology is destined to continue to play a leading role in developing outstanding academic programs and excellent scientific research, commensurate with it being a top-level academic institution.

The College of Food Science and Technology owns a strong faculty team, and committed to the promotion and advancement of Food Science and Technology. The college has 4 departments: Aquatic Products Processing and Technology, Food Science and Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Chemistry, followed by many research and teaching subunits of Aquatic Products Processing and Utilization, Biological Products of Marine and Limnology, Food Processing, Packaging, Refrigerating Engineering, Air Conditioning Engineering, Basic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry and etc. Currently, there are 130 full-time faculty members and assistant staffs in the college, among them are 23 professors and 37 associate professors; 8 doctoral advisors and 48 master advisors; of whom more than 70% own doctor's degree, and over 70% have oversea visiting and training experiences.

The college now has formed an outstanding teaching team with balanced knowledge structure, research domain, and age scale. A young faculty team with strong research background and distinguished research skills has been forming and becoming the solid power of the college.
